The house was founded in 1772 by Philippe Clicquot and has specialized in the production of champagne ever since, with a focus on the Pinot Noir grape variety. After the death of her husband Francois Clicquot just two years after their marriage, Barbe-Nicole Ponsardin took over the management of the company in 1810. In 1986, Veuve Clicquot merged with Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy. Jacques Peters is currently the company's head winemaker. Veuve Clicquot's motto, both then and now, is: "Only one quality - the best".

Veuve Clicquot's Brut Réserve Cuvée, similar to the Yellow Label known since 1772, consists of 56% Pinot Noir, 28% Chardonnay and 16% Pinot Meunier. This composition ensures an optimal balance of strength, finesse and complexity thanks to the predominant presence of Pinot Noir and the addition of other reserve wines.

Tasting notes:

Elegant golden yellow in the glass. Even and very fine bubbles. Complex and fruity notes of orange zest, tropical fruit and blossom honey on the nose. Noticeable toasted aromas and nuances of apples, peaches and honey on the palate. After three to four years of ageing, it achieves the biscuity complexity for which Clicquot is famous. Long lasting finish.

Acidity: 5.4 g/l.
Drinking temperature: 8°C.

This champagne goes very well with seafood, parmesan, salmon, fish tartare and duck.
