The base is molasses, 94% of which was distilled in a column still, reflecting the typically elegant, finely structured style of New Grove. The exceptional maturation period of 21 years took place in a combination of Limousin Oak, Chêne and ex-Cognac barrels, which give the rum a multi-layered depth, fine spiciness and a rich fruity sweetness. The completely natural character of the bottling is particularly noteworthy: 100% natural, no sugar, no colorants, no chill filtration - an unadulterated reflection of the Mauritian rum tradition.
