Taketsuru traveled to Scotland in 1918 to learn the traditional art of whisky making. On his return to Japan, he combined this knowledge with Japanese precision and thus laid the foundations for authentic Japanese whisky production, which today enjoys worldwide recognition. The Nikka Frontier Blended Whisky follows this tradition and combines classic craftsmanship with a modern, accessible style.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe basis of this Japanese blended whisky is a high proportion of peated single malt from the Yoichi distillery, Nikka's first distillery. In total, the blend consists of more than 51% different malt whiskies, which gives the whisky a pronounced malty depth and aromatic complexity. The composition is complemented by in-house Coffey grain whiskies, which provide additional balance and a smooth structure. The Nikka Frontier Whisky is bottled at a strong 48% vol. without chill-filtration, which preserves its natural character particularly well. The striking 500 ml bottle underlines the modern style of the bottling.
