La Maison du Rhum Venezuela Diplomatico batch #3 2011 comes to us from Distilerias Unidas SA (DUSA), who are famous for their flagship rum, Diplomatico. The production of this rum is complex, since it uses various raw materials, stills and barrels.

First, we use molasses and cane honey, an evaporated cane juice. The must is distilled in three different devices: a pot-still rum doubler, a lamb-glass and a boil ball. Several barrels are used for aging: the distillery used American oak barrels and old Pedro Ximenez sherry barrels. 

This maturation lasted 9 years.
