DESCRIPTION
The story
The other Châteauneuf of the house! Les Sinards is generally made from young vines in Beaucastel as well as from nearby rented vines.
The vintage
Favored by very good weather conditions, the 2020 vintage is a generous year, both in quality and quantity. Less hot than 2019, this year was very windy throughout the growing cycle, with light rain. After a fairly mild and mild winter (a single episode of frost should be noted during the night of March 24 to 25, but only the earliest plots were very slightly affected), spring was radiant, fairly warm and very windy, which which allows the soil to preserve its freshness. Flowering began on May 18, under very healthy conditions. The good weather continues in June, July and August, with heat but lower temperatures than in 2019, cool and humid nights and this wind which continues to blow, preserving the freshness of the vines and maintaining the perfect sanitary quality of the grapes. The fairly early harvest therefore began in these very good conditions on August 26 with the white Côtes-du-Rhône and continued until the end of September with the Mourvèdre. The month of September, warm at first then more temperate, offered idyllic harvesting conditions and allowed each plot to be harvested at perfect maturity. The harvest is very healthy with beautiful, juicy and very ripe grapes, reasonable alcohol levels, good acidity and already a good balance. Yields are slightly higher than 2019 and the first tastings bode well for a very nice vintage. begin in these very good conditions from August 26 with the white Côtes-du-Rhône and continue until the end of September with the Mourvèdre. Aging
From the month of August, we carry out ripeness checks and berry tasting in order to determine the optimal date for the harvest. Each grape variety is harvested separately. Upon arrival at the cellar, the grapes are sorted. Part of the Syrah is vinified in whole bunches, the other part as well as the Grenache is destemmed. Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines are vinified using the same process as the wines of Château de Beaucastel. After vinification, the wines are tasted to define the blend. Finally, they are aged in barrels for 2 years.
Service
15°C in tall glasses, with game, truffles and mushrooms.
Tasting
Beautiful limpid robe of brilliant ruby red. The nose is revealed with finesse with an aromatic bouquet on the fruit, full of freshness. On the palate, this wine is supple, elegant, with good acidity and seductive tangy notes of red fruits such as redcurrant. A wine of great finesse.
