Ardbeg 17 Years Old The Ultimate Committee Exclusive Islay Single Malt 40% Vol. 0,7l in Giftbox

Unofficially, distilling has taken place at the Ardbeg distillery since 1794 – in 1815, the distillery was purchased by John McDougall and officially opened under the name Ardbeg.

"Ardbeg" comes from Gaelic and translates roughly as "little hill."

The distillery is located on the south coast of the Islay whisky region.

Over 25 years ago, in 1997, the Ardbeg 17 Years Old The Ultimate Committee Exclusive was one of the first bottles to leave the distillery after its reopening. This unusually delicate, yet unmistakably Ardbeg whisky quickly won the hearts of the Ardbeg Committee and set an exceptional standard for the future.

When the whisky was retired in 2004, many believed they would never see it again. However, its return was being carefully prepared behind the scenes. Bill Lumsden, the Master Distiller, meticulously based the new bottling on the original, retracing the flavor profile note by note and bottling it at 40% ABV, just like back then, to continue the tradition.

Taster's note

Colour: Bronze.

Nose: Fresh, elegant, hints of pine resin, anise notes, sweet peat smoke, malted barley, lavender soap.

Palate: Creamy, mild, peat smoke, fennel, anise, café latte.

Finish: Long-lasting, robust oak, tar, cocoa powder.
