The Foursquare Shibboleth 16 Years Old is an exclusive and exceptionally mature bottling from the internationally renowned Exceptional Cask Selection of the Foursquare Distillery in Barbados. As a single blended rum, it combines both pot still and column still distillates – typical of Foursquare – and thus represents the characteristic balance of power, structure, and elegance for which Master Distiller Richard Seale is admired worldwide.

This edition was distilled in 2005 and matured for over 16 years entirely in a tropical climate in former American white oak bourbon barrels. The long barrel aging gives the rum a particularly dense, complex aroma with a distinct wood influence and spicy depth. The Shibboleth was bottled at cask strength 56% ABV, naturally without sugar, colorings, or additives – a true hallmark of the Foursquare philosophy.

The name "Shibboleth" symbolizes distinction and integrity—fitting for a bottling that clearly stands out from industrially produced rums and represents a true statement of authentic rum craftsmanship.

Tasting notes:

Color: Dark amber with mahogany highlights.
