Ballechin 13 years - Heavily smoky whisky from the first fill bourbon barrel

This 13-year-old Ballechin whiskey was bottled by the Edradour distillery exclusively for the German market. The whiskey slumbered for 13 years in first-fill bourbon barrels with cask number 76. The distillery bottled it at 46.0 percent by volume. No chill filtration or coloring was used. 

A total of 277 bottles of this bottling are available for purchase.

Tasting: 

Nosing: The whiskey shows up on the nose with sweet and spicy notes. A harmonious blend with notes of vanilla, spicy oak and malt.

Tasting: The Ballechin 13 Years from the First Fill Bourbon Barrel 76 is a strong and intense whiskey. It combines strong peat flavors with a subtle sweetness of fruit. Spicy oak and malt are added.

Finish: The finish of the whiskey is spicy and long-lasting. Fruit and vanilla remain on the palate.
