Canaïma Small Batch Gin 47% Vol. 0,7l

Canaïma Gin hails from South America, more specifically from the Amazon rainforest. Just a few of the native botanicals include açaí berries, uve de palma (red fruit harvested from a palm tree), copuazu (related to the cacao tree) and merey fruit (also known as a cashew). The Amazonian botanicals are harvested in ways that limit the environmental impacts.

Produced by the team behind Diplomatico Rum in Venezuela, the creation of Canaima Gin is a complex process given that each of the 19 botanicals, 10 of which are sourced from the Amazon, is individually treated, macerated and distilled. Macerating and distilling the botanicals in small batches of 500 litres allows the Master Distillers to create a uniquely crafted gin reflecting Diplomatico's long, and somewhat unknown, tradition of gin-making.
 

BOTANICALS

3000 fruits are found in the Amazon rainforest; only 200 are known by most. We chose 6 to craft our gin:
Merey, Acai, Moriche, Tupiro, Seje, Copoazu
Traditional botanicals: juniper, lemon peel, orange peel, coriander, angelica root, caraway seeds.

10% of the profits from Canaima Gin go to the conservation and protection of indigenous peoples in the Amazon.
 

TASTING NOTES

Tangy fruity notes of passion fruit and grapefruit citrus, with a herbaceous backdrop, black pepper heat and an earthy, grassy undertone.
