The Kilchoman MACHIR BAY Cask Strength Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky Edition 2025 is the third limited bottling of the flagship of the independent farm distillery Kilchoman Distillery at natural cask strength. 

Machir Bay is considered a benchmark for the classic Kilchoman house style and stands for a maritime, smoky Islay character that confidently positions itself alongside the island's well-known greats. For this edition, the single malt was predominantly composed of malts around six years old and matured mainly in ex-bourbon casks, supplemented by a smaller proportion of Oloroso sherry casks.

While the standard bottling is filled at 46% vol., this Cask Strength Edition 2025 is bottled at a powerful 58.1% vol. The bottling is non-chill-filtered and without colorant, which means that all the aromatic oils and esters are fully preserved. 

The cask composition provides depth and structure without masking the typical Kilchoman character. 

This limited edition is aimed at lovers of smoky Islay single malts who appreciate the unadulterated expression of cask strength, as well as curious connoisseurs who want to experience Machir Bay in its most intense form. The bottling is delivered in a gift box.

Tasting notes:

Color: Intense gold to copper, exclusively due to barrel influence.
Nose: Lemon zest, melon, floral notes, subtle peat smoke, vanilla and honey.
Taste: Rich chocolate, fresh citrus fruits, a hint of smoked meat, and lingering caramel sweetness.
Finish: Long-lasting and evolving, with integrated waves of peat smoke, spices, and charred candied fruit.
