Wolfburn Small Batch N°458 Single Malt Scotch Whisky 46% Vol. 0,7l in Giftbox

The seventh small-batch release from Wolfburn, Batch 458 has been crafted from a 50/50 combination of whisky matured for seven years in first-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry butts, married with lightly-peated spirit matured in first-fill bourbon barrels. 

These casks produced 5,100 bottles in total and the result is a rich, sweet single malt with an exceptional depth of flavour.

TASTING NOTES

ON THE NOSE – Treacle and coffee notes lead the way, accompanied by subtle tones of cherry and dried spice. A heady aroma, full of promise. 

ON THE PALATE – Hazelnut, almonds and cloves are all present, wonderfully overlaid with soft peat smoke. The tannins are subtle, allowing the palate to develop beautifully. Give it time and the full extent of the flavours will reveal themselves. 

FINISH  – Treacle sweetness remains present until the end accompanied by hints of spice. A trace of peat smoke continues to linger when all else is gone.
