The definition of the American Single Malt Whiskey Commission:
Made from 100% malted barley. Distilled in a distillery.
Macerated, distilled and matured in the USA.
Matured in oak barrels (smaller than 700 l).
Distilled to no more than 160 proof/80 vol %.
Bottled at 80 proof/40 vol. % or more.

Westward Whiskey’s answer and interpretation:
Take two-row barley grown and malted in the Northwest.
Every drop comes from the distillery in Portland, Oregon.

The American Single Malt matures for at least 36 months in new American oak and former First Fill Bourbon barrels.

Colour: gold.
Nose: Lemons, oranges, vanilla pudding, chocolate pudding, waffles, jasmine, crème brûlée.
Taste: Rich, cherries, chocolate, almonds, bananas, cream.
Finish: Long lasting.

The whisky can be used pure or for mixing cocktails.
