Angostura 1919 Premium Gold Rum Deluxe Aged Blend 40% vol. 0.7 l Angostura 1919 Premium Gold Rum Deluxe Aged Blend is a high-quality rum from Trinidad, the production of which is entirely linked to the Caribbean island. The sugar cane used comes from Trinidad, whilst production and bottling also take place there. For Angostura 1919, carefully selected rums are blended together, having matured for at least eight years in ex-bourbon casks. This lengthy ageing in ex-bourbon casks shapes the elegant character of the bottling and lends the blend additional depth and structure. The rum is produced by the long-established Angostura house, which is internationally renowned not only for its rums but also for its famous bitters. With an alcohol content of 40 percent and a bottle size of 0.7 litres, the Angostura 1919 is one of the producer’s established premium bottlings. The Angostura 1919 rum owes its name to a historic event: in the early 1930s, a fire destroyed a large proportion of the rum casks stored in the Government Rum Bond. A few casks survived the fire and contained rum from a 1919 cask-strength bottling. Today’s bottling is intended as a tribute to this episode in Trinidad’s rum history. The Angostura 1919 Deluxe Aged Blend thus combines its historic name with at least eight years’ cask maturation and the island’s long-standing rum tradition. The combination of 100 percent Trinidad origin, at least eight years’ maturation and bourbon casks makes it an interesting choice for lovers of classic, matured Caribbean rums. Tasting Note

Colour: Amber with excellent clarity. Nose: Rich and complex with notes of cocoa, vanilla and coconut. Palate: Round and dry with roasted nuts, creamy vanilla, warm spices and tropical notes. Finish: Long-lasting and mellow with harmonious lingering spice and delicate vanilla. Angostura 1919 is ideal for enjoying neat, as well as being excellent in classic rum cocktails. To make an ANGOSTURA Old Fashioned, gently stir 6 cl Angostura 1919, 1 cl sugar syrup, 2 dashes of Angostura Aromatic Bitters and 1 dash of Angostura Orange Bitters directly into a tumbler with ice. The drink is then garnished with a large strip of orange zest. It pairs well with roasted nuts, dark chocolate or desserts featuring coconut and vanilla.
