Compass Box Vellichor Blended Malt, bottled at 44.6% ABV, is an exquisite and complex whisky, showcasing a masterful composition of various high-quality malt whiskies and a careful selection of casks.

Compass Box created this blended malt from a mix of whiskies from different distilleries and regions, offering a unique depth and aromatic complexity. The blend comprises 12.1% Macallan Single Malt, 38.9% Highland Park Single Malt, 15.6% Blended Scotch Parcel, 29.3% Blended Malt Parcel, and 4.1% Caol Ila Single Malt.

The whisky matures in a fascinating array of casks, including first-fill bourbon barrels, recharged hogsheads, refill sherry butts, and refill hogsheads. These casks impart incredible complexity to the Vellichor, characterized by aromas of warm spices, fruity notes, and a subtle oaky spice. The whisky absorbs the best qualities of each cask type to offer a harmonious yet complex taste experience.

Colour: Dark gold with amber highlights.

Nose: Complex aromas of dried fruit, cinnamon, vanilla, and a subtle hint of oak, instantly creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Palate: Full-bodied and smooth, with a harmonious blend of ripe fruit, spices, a touch of spice, and a soft vanilla note that balances the whisky.

Finish: Long and supple, with a gentle oak warmth and a fruity note that lingers pleasantly on the palate.

Compass Box Vellichor Blended Scotch Whisky is excellent enjoyed neat or with a drop of water to enhance its aromas. It pairs perfectly with mature cheeses like Comté or Cheddar, as well as fruity desserts such as apple strudel or tarte tatin, complementing their flavors beautifully.
