Domäne Wachau, located in Austria's most renowned wine-growing region, the Wachau, is one of the country's leading white wine producers. Steep terraced vineyards, a cool marginal climate and barren primary rock soils characterize the wines of the Wachau.

A mild and dry winter was followed by a cool spring with sufficient moisture, which benefited the vines during the hot summer days. Despite a few hailstorms, the year was generally positive until the fall.

The grapes for this Grüner Veltliner Steinfeder Gneis + Löss come from various vineyards along the Danube throughout the Wachau. The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand in order to obtain a characteristic Wachau wine style with rich fruit. The vineyards are cultivated sustainably and increasingly organically, without the use of insecticides and herbicides.
