Ron Prohibido El Ron Prohibido Solera 15 Gran Reserva Finest Blended Mexican Rum 40% Vol. 0,7l

El Ron Prohibido Rum Habanero' comes from the Spanish and means «the forbidden rum».
This comes from the fact that around the year 1700, Chinguirito rum (= distillate from sugar cane grown in Mexico, shipped to Spain and stored in sherry casks) became very popular and of course the traditional rum producers did not like that.
Without further ado, the royal house banned Chinguirito (also called Habanero).

This rum was produced using the solera method and is aged for 15 years in oak barrels.

Awards:
Double gold in 2016 at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

Colour: Dark amber.
Nose: Slightly sweet-fruity, hints of caramelised sugar, chocolate, honey.
Taste: Fruity, notes of nuts, cane sugar, dark chocolate, hints of sweetness, honey, sultanas, coffee, plums.
Finish: Long lasting, fruity.
