DESCRIPTION
In 1975, Gérard Bertrand began his grape harvest at Château de Villemajou in the Corbières, where he discovered his passion for wine. Over the course of twelve years, he honed his skills alongside his father Georges Bertrand until the fourth generation finally carried on the legacy. After the tragic death of his father in 1987, Gérard Bertrand took over the family management of the Domaine de Villemajou and founded the Gérard Bertrand wine company. The Gérard Bertrand Group comprises 16 wine estates and 16 châteaux along the Mediterranean coast of France, covering a total of 850 hectares. Some of the grapes are harvested by hand and matured in 225-liter Bordeaux barrels, while the rest is stored in stainless steel tanks.
Gerard Bertrand Orange Gold is a first-class organic orange wine from the Languedoc, composed of the Muscat, Chardonnay, Grenache Blanc, Marsanne, Mauzac and Viognier grape varieties. This wine embodies the charm of the Old World and demonstrates the success of traditional European winemaking.
The warm climatic conditions of the region contribute significantly to the ripeness of the grapes, which are harvested particularly well ripened and with a high must weight. After careful manual harvesting, the grapes are carefully processed and fermented at controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks. Subsequent maturation on the fine lees gives the Orange Gold its balanced structure and depth before it is bottled.
