Isle of RAASAY 5 Years Old Bordeaux Red Wine Cask Single Malt 59,9% Vol. 0,7l in Giftbox

This 5-year-old single malt Scotch whisky comes from the Isle of Raasay Distillery, the first legal whisky distillery on the small Hebridean island of Raasay, just off the coast of Skye. It is a single cask bottling, matured entirely in a first-fill Bordeaux red wine cask, and it is made from peated malt. The result pairs robust smokiness with the strong influence of the wine cask.

The Bordeaux casks used here are made from European oak and come from châteaux in south-west France. During maturation they add tannins, dark fruit and spicy, woody character to the spirit. This bottling comes from Bordeaux Red Wine Cask No. 18/721 and belongs to the Na Sia Single Cask Series, which highlights the individual cask types behind the distillery's signature style.

Bottled at a natural cask strength of 59.9% ABV, the whisky is not chill-filtered and has no added colouring, so its colour and character come solely from the distillate and its time in the cask. It is presented in a 0.7-litre bottle with a gift box, and will appeal to lovers of intense, smoky, wine-cask-matured Scotch.
