Inspired by Phileas Fogg, the intrepid globetrotting hero of Jules Verne's "Around the World in Eighty Days," Planteray's Navy Mister Fogg N° 2 is a limited blended rum built around the spirit of adventure. It brings together rums sourced from Barbados, Trinidad, Guyana, Mauritius and Jamaica, each contributing its own character to a genuinely international composition.

The blend itself is precisely composed: 34% from Stade's West Indies Rum Distillery in Barbados, 35% from Trinidad Distillers Ltd., 20% from Guyana's Diamond Distillery, 6% from Saint Aubin in Mauritius, and 5% from the Long Pond and Clarendon distilleries in Jamaica. Each component rum first matures under tropical conditions in its country of origin before being shipped to France, where Maison Ferrand — renowned for its meticulous cask selection and inventive maturation techniques — takes over the assembly.

Once united, the rums undergo further continental ageing and finishing in a variety of previously-used casks, including cognac, wine, whisky and American bourbon barrels, as well as open wooden vats. This layered maturation process is designed to build additional complexity and bring the final blend into harmonious balance.

True to Navy rum tradition — a nod to the historic rum rations once issued aboard British naval ships — this bottling is presented at full cask strength of 55.7% Vol. A small amount of caramel coloring is added purely to harmonize the rum's final hue.
