For this Macallan 18 Years Old Diamonds Are Forever release, the Macallan Whisky Mastery Team, led by Whisky Maker Russell Greig, selected a special combination of sherry-seasoned oak casks, red wine oak casks and specially developed hybrid sherry-oak casks combining both European and American oak. This innovative cask selection reflects key elements of the film: American oak is symbolic of the iconic scenes in Las Vegas and California, while the deep sherry notes allude to Bond's renowned connoisseurship of solera sherry. The natural color of the whisky is reminiscent of the Aztec sandstone of the Nevada desert and underlines the visual connection to the film set. This collector's bottling is supplied in a high-quality gift box with a design featuring motifs from the film production - including lasers, Bond symbols and iconic film scenes - providing a look behind the scenes of the creative development of "Diamonds Are Forever".
