Champagne Taittinger is a world-renowned champagne house, which is family-owned since 1734. This champagne house includes 260 hectares of vineyards. The house is located in Saint-Nicaise in Rems, in the chalk cellar the champagnes ripen 18 meters below ground. This dates back to Roman times.

The grapes for this champagne are harvested from the vineyard 'Les Folies'. This vineyard is located above the Château de la Marquetterie. This is known as the residence of the writer Jacques Cazotte, as well as a place for meetings and country parties during the Age of Enlightenment. The Benedictine monk Brother Oudart discovered interesting secrets about champagne fermentation there. Today, the Château de la Marquetterie is the ancestral home of the Taittinger family. The grapes are harvested by hand. They are then immediately taken to the winery where they are sorted and crushed. After fermentation of the base wines, further aging takes place based on bottle storage. The champagne matures for several months and the bottle and is then disgorged.

Tasting notes:

Golden yellow in the glass. On the nose notes of apricots, oranges, grapefruits and vineyard peaches. On the palate, notes of roasted almonds, brittle, roasted hazelnuts, as well as the fruit notes of the nose. Long lasting on the finish.
