El Ron Prohibido Solera 12 Blended Mexican Rum 40% Vol. 0,7l

The El Ron Prohibido 12 Solera Blended Mexican Rum comes from the Spanish and means translated «The forbidden rum».
That’s because around the year 1700 the Chinguirito Rum (= distillate from cultivated sugar cane from Mexico, which was shipped to Spain and stored in sherry barrels) became very popular and of course the traditional rum producers did not like it.
Without further ado, the royal house banned the Chinguirito.

This rum was produced according to the Solera process and aged for 12 years in oak barrels.

Colour: brown.
Nose: fine astringency, sweetish, wood, vanilla, notes of coffee, chocolate and raisins.
Taste: Strong, sweet, fruity, ripe, raisins, sultanas, notes of plums and dried fruit, hints of nut and wood.
Finish: Long lasting.

This rum should definitely be enjoyed pure.
