For close to 200 years, the Cortés family has been growing, foraging and distilling the maguey in the Zapotec town of Santiago Matatlán, 30 miles southeast of Oaxaca City: the gateway to the Oaxacan highlands, mezcal country! 

Besides being farmers and master distillers, the Cortés family is the driving force behind the award winning mezcales of El Jolgorio and Nuestra Soledad.

TASTING NOTES

Espadín agave, distilled and matured for over 18 months in American oak barrels and presented at an approachable 43% ABV.
Lovely notes of smoke, caramel and cocoa on the nose, with a generous campfire warmth offered by the palate. Finishes with a lingering sensation of tree nuts and orange peel.
