Plantation Rum XAYMACA Special Dry Jamaican Rum 2009 43% Vol. 0,7l

The Plantations Rums are no longer an insider tip. The excellent rums are mainly collected in the Caribbean and also in South America and then brought to France, where they receive their finishing touches. In Ars in France, the rum is subsequently stored for several months in small discarded oak cognac barrels. This type of aging is called "double aging", this technique was already used in the 18th and 19th centuries.

'Xaymaca' comes from the Arawak (South American & Caribbean) language and refers to the island nation of Jamaica.
Translated, the word means something like 'spring land or wood and water land'.

The Plantation Rum XAYMACA Special Dry Jamaican Rum is a blend of molasses, which is made from 100% Pot Still Rums.
First, this rum is aged for one to three years in ex-bourbon barrels in Jamaica.
Further, this is stored in small used French oak cognac barrels (350 l) for another year.
Last but not least, this is finished with a small part of a 17 year old Jamaica rum.

Tasting notes:

Color: amber.

Nose: Complex, slightly smoky, fleshy, notes of acidic fruity-vegetable aromas, vanilla, ripe bananas, bitter orange peel, roasted pineapple.

Taste: Dry, floral, fruity, rose water, pears, white grapes, apricots, cinnamon apples, notes of coconut milk, allspice, nuts, bread.

Finish: Long lasting, fruity-floral.
