MICHAEL Sauvignon Blanc Vulkanland Steiermark DAC 2023 is an expressive and finely structured white wine that combines the characteristic freshness and aromas of the Sauvignon Blanc grape with the special minerality of the Styrian volcanic region. The MICHAEL am Rosenberg winery stands for sustainable viticulture and the highest quality, which is reflected in the careful vinification of this wine. The grapes were harvested on October 5, 2023 by selective hand-picking, which means that only the best and fully ripe berries are processed.

After the harvest, the wine is carefully fermented and matured in stainless steel tanks on the fine lees, a process that gives the wine its deep structure, fine creaminess and complex aromas. This technique also ensures a harmonious balance between fruitiness, minerality and elegant freshness. The wine has an alcohol content of 12% vol., which makes it a particularly versatile, fresh and lively representative of its type. To preserve the optimum freshness and quality, the wine is bottled with a screw cap. With a storage potential of around three years, it can be enjoyed young as well as gaining further expressiveness with a short ageing period.

Its sparkling, mineral structure makes it an ideal wine for summer occasions, social gatherings or elegant dinner evenings. Served well chilled, it unfolds its full aroma and provides a refreshing, unmistakable taste experience.

Tasting notes:

Clear straw yellow with greenish reflections in the glass. The nose reveals a multi-layered bouquet of gooseberries, green peppers and fresh citrus notes, accompanied by subtle grassy and mineral nuances. On the palate, it is fresh, juicy and precise, with a finely balanced acidity structure and a pronounced mineral elegance. The finish is long, fruity and harmonious, with a lingering, refreshing spiciness.

Thanks to its fresh and aromatic character, this Sauvignon Blanc is ideal as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to light starters, fresh salads and fish dishes. It harmonizes particularly well with Asian dishes, asparagus or goat's cheese, as its lively acidity balances the flavours perfectly.
