The company Mazzetti D'Altavilla was founded in 1846 by Filippo Mazzetti in Monferrato. 

Today, the family business is run by the sixth generation. 

The grappa is made from marc. Grape marc is produced during the wine-making process and is the residue left over from pressed fruit. 

It took many years for people to recognise the value of pomace and distil high quality grappa from it.

The Moscato grape is highly prized by many grappa lovers. Its sweet, flowery fragrance is reminiscent of meadow flowers.
