Unofficially, the Ardbeg distillery has been distilling since 1794 - in 1815, the distillery was bought by John McDougall and officially opened under the name Ardbeg. "Ardbeg" comes from the Gaelic and translates as "little hill". The distillery is located on the south coast of the Islay whisky region. Ardbeg The Ultimate Private Single Cask cask no. 3201 enriches the exclusive partnership between Weisshaus and Ardbeg and celebrates the unmistakable Ardbeg style in a special way. This single cask, which is reserved exclusively for the Weisshaus shop, began its maturation on 1 August 2012. The whisky matured for 11 years in first fill bourbon barrels, intensifying its typical Ardbeg character traits. Tasting Note

Colour: Straw gold. Nose: Fruity lime, elderflower, juniper notes, pine resin, dark chocolate, peat, charcoal. Flavour: Sweetish, peaty nuances, black and white peppercorns, liquorice. Finish: Langs, earthy coffee notes, terrestrial peat, chilli spice.
