In 1975, Gérard Bertrand began his grape harvest at Château de Villemajou in the Corbières, where he discovered his passion for wine. Over the course of twelve years, he honed his skills alongside his father Georges Bertrand until the fourth generation finally carried on the legacy. After the tragic death of his father in 1987, Gérard Bertrand took over the family management of the Domaine de Villemajou and founded the Gérard Bertrand wine company. The Gérard Bertrand Group comprises 16 wine estates and 16 châteaux along the Mediterranean coast of France, covering a total of 850 hectares. After a light pre-clarification, the juice ferments in high-quality barrels, giving the wine a complex variety of aromas. A 7 to 8-month barrel maturation with regular stirring ensures depth and structure, while a final fining perfects clarity and balance. After ageing, the wine is bottled and sealed with a natural cork.
