Mombacho Ron 12 Years Old Sauternes Finish 40% Vol. 0,7l in Giftbox

Mombacho 12 years old Sauternes Finish is named after one of Nicaragua 's the most famous volcanoes. Distilled in 2003, it was bottled in 2015 after benefiting from a finish in barrels that contained Sauternes wine. This maturation gives this column -distilled molasses rum gourmet aromas, which enhance its light character.

It is also a single cask bearing the number 44.

Tasting note

The nose is divided between aromas of roasting (toasted oak, coffee, etc.) and rounded fruity and spicy notes. The former take over for a while, giving free rein to aromas of toasted and caramelized nuts.

With aeration, the toasted notes gradually dissipate to give way to toasted bread, then to a slightly more delicious woodiness. The roasting eventually takes over, with blackened nuts and steaming coffee beans.

The palate is very fluid and suave, and focuses above all on the touch. As in a vodka, the aromas rather give way to the sensations and the texture, which here are completely velvety. A little roasted veil slips a little later on the palate, as well as some scents of bitter flowers.

The finish is light and gently spicy, from the roasting a touch of vanilla is born.
