Distiller's Cut is the yearly limited release from the Black Forest distillery behind Monkey 47 gin. Each annual edition differs from the standard bottling by adding one extra botanical. The 2023 edition uses a single distinctive botanical that complements the gin's character and adds depth.

Like every Monkey 47 bottling, it builds on 47 hand-picked botanicals. These include juniper, cranberries, and herbs and spices from the Black Forest, alongside exotic ingredients from around the world. Traditional maceration and small-batch distillation produce a complex aroma profile, which the 2023 edition refines further. It is bottled at 47% ABV and comes in a gift box.

This gin suits neat sipping in a nosing glass, where the rare botanical can be explored. It also works in a classic gin & tonic with a neutral tonic water and a fine garnish, or in cocktails such as a Martini or Negroni. With its limited availability and presentation box, it makes a fitting gift or collector's piece.

Tasting Note

Crystal clear in the glass. The nose is intense, with juniper, herbs and floral accents, plus fresh spice from the edition's signature botanical. The palate is complex and balanced, built on a clear juniper base with fruity and spicy notes lifted by the extra botanical. The finish is long and delicately spicy, with an elegant freshness.
