Masataka Taketsuru is the founder of Nikka Whisky and is also described as the "father of Japanese whisky". In 1918, he traveled to Scotland to closely observe and learn how whisky is made. In 1934, he founded Nikka Whisky. Nikka Whisky Distilling Co. Ltd. owns a number of distilleries in Japan - including the Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries.

Nikka Black Rich Blend Whisky is an addition to Nikka's popular Black series. The whisky combines vintages from the Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries.

Tasting notes:

Color: Bright amber.
Nose: Fruity, exotic, notes of citrus, bananas, raspberries.
Taste: Rich, spicy, notes of old leather, coffee, lemons.
Finish: Long lasting.
