It comes from Sailor's Home, an independent Limerick company named after the historic Sailor's Home, a refuge for travelling seafarers founded in 1856. The brand takes its inspiration from global trade routes and the voyages casks made across the oceans, and it creates Irish whiskies with distinctive maturation concepts.

Journey is a blend of carefully selected Irish whiskies, each matured in a different way. One part is first aged in virgin American oak casks, then moved into American bourbon casks. It is joined by an Irish malt whisky that also starts out in bourbon casks and is then finished in Jamaican rum casks.

The result combines sweet cask notes, tropical fruit aromas and the malty character typical of Irish whiskey. With a balanced structure, smooth texture and complex bouquet, it is aimed at connoisseurs who enjoy a modern take on classic Irish whiskey.
