Stauning RYE Floor Malted Danish Whisky Sweet Wine Casks 46% Vol. 0,7l

In a remote village on the west coast of Denmark, 9 friends met in an old slaughterhouse.
Although they had no idea about whiskey making, they shared passion, curiosity and the will to experiment.

Jim Murray, famous author of the annual Whisky Bible, tasted a sip of the Staunings pot-still and was delighted.
Although the banks advised against further whiskey production, the friends managed to raise money for a farm.
The starting signal was given for possibly the best potted whisky in the world, and the farm was transformed into a small distillery.

With a limited edition, the Danish distillery Stauning has succeeded in immortalizing the sensory snapshot of a freshly baked apple pie with cinnamon crumble in a whisky. The full-bodied flagship is made from locally grown barley and rye. Initial maturation takes place in burnt-out American white oak barrels. The finale takes place in sweet wine casks such as Marsala Casks, Gewürztraminer Casks or Ramandalo Casks and lasts up to 2 years.

Nose: Fruity apple pie, cereal notes and hints of cinnamon.
Taste: Soft, fruity, sweet, apple pie with cinnamon notes.
