Togouchi Japanese Blended Whisky Rum Cask Finish 43% Vol. 0.7l Giftbox

Togouchi expands its range with a new expression that highlights the brand's Japanese identity through an unusual cask finishing approach. Distilled entirely in Japan at the Sakurao Brewery & Distillery, this blended whisky is matured in Togouchi's signature ageing site: a converted, historic railway tunnel.

The blend itself combines 15% malt whisky with 85% grain whisky made from unmalted barley, resulting in a clean, elegantly structured spirit. Following an initial maturation period in bourbon casks, the whisky then spends an extended 18 months finishing in Jamaican rum casks - a notably long secondary maturation that was refined over time to bring out layered aromatics and a well-rounded character.

This bottling also marks a first for the range: it is released at 43% ABV, a step up intended to let the texture, the cask's influence and the whisky's overall character come through with greater clarity. The result stays faithful to Togouchi's clean and refined house style, while introducing a hint of exotic complexity from the rum cask influence.

Presented in a giftbox, this 0.7l bottle is a fitting addition for those exploring Japanese whisky's more experimental cask finishes.
