The Tormaresca Torcicoda Primitivo Salento IGT 2023 15% Vol. 0.75 l is a full-bodied, deep red wine from Apulia that captures the essence of southern Italy in concentrated form. It comes from the renowned Tormaresca winery, which belongs to the traditional Antinori family and is famous for its high-quality wines from the Salento region. Torcicoda is made exclusively from the Primitivo grape variety - the grape that has made Puglia one of Italy's most important wine regions.

The grapes are carefully harvested by hand, then gently pressed and macerated and fermented in stainless steel tanks at 26 °C for 15 days. This is followed by ageing and malolactic fermentation in French and Hungarian oak barriques, which gives the wine its velvety structure and fine spiciness. After 8 months in the bottle, it is released onto the market perfectly matured. Its ageing potential of up to 10 years underlines the exceptional quality and development potential of this top wine from Apulia

In the glass, the Torcicoda Primitivo Salento IGT presents itself in a deep dark ruby red with violet reflections. On the nose, it has expressive aromas of ripe sour cherries and plums, accompanied by nuances of leather, tobacco, vanilla and cedar wood. On the palate, it is soft, concentrated and harmonious, with ripe fruit, fine tannins and an elegant structure. The wood notes are perfectly integrated and underline the dense, creamy texture. The finish is long, spicy and persistent, with hints of dark chocolate, spices and ripe cherry.

The Tormaresca Torcicoda Primitivo is an ideal accompaniment to hearty meat dishes, grilled beef, game, braised lamb or mature cheese. It also unfolds its full intensity with pasta with ragù, truffle dishes or spicy Mediterranean dishes. It reveals its full aromatic depth at a serving temperature of 16-18 °C.
