Plantation / Planteray PÉROU Single Cask Banyuls Barrel Rum 2017 41,4% Vol. 0,7l in Giftbox

This limited-edition Peruvian rum is part of the Planteray Single Cask Collection 2026. It is made from sugarcane molasses at the Cartavio Distillery, where the molasses is fermented for three days and then distilled in a column still. The rum was distilled in 2017 and bottled at 41.4% ABV in a 0.7l bottle, presented in a giftbox.

Its maturation unfolds in three stages. The rum first spent five years ageing under tropical conditions in former bourbon casks, then moved to Ferrand casks in France for a further 17 months. It was finished for 27 months in a former Banyuls wine cask, bringing the total time in cask to eight years and eight months. Banyuls is a sweet French wine from Roussillon, made mainly from Grenache grapes, and its used casks offer an interesting influence on rum ageing. A dosage of 4 g of sugar per litre is applied.

Planteray Rum, formerly known as Plantation Rum, belongs to the French spirits house Maison Ferrand and is overseen by Master Blender Alexandre Gabriel, known for unusual cask combinations. Pairing tropical bourbon-cask ageing, continental Ferrand casks and a sweet-wine finish, this rare bottling will appeal to anyone who enjoys distinctive cask-aged rums.
