The Bolgheri amphitheater

An area, that of Guado al Tasso, characterized by the Bolgheri Amphitheater, a series of hills that enclose the plain overlooking the sea, capable of creating a unique microclimate, with large temperature variations. The Guado al Tasso vineyards are located at the foot of the Amphitheater and, during the night, the cold air descends from the hills to cool the rows. These particular climatic conditions give the grapes a marked aroma and ensure perfect ripening of the berry.
 

The wine

Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and sometimes a small amount of Petit Verdot, to represent the elegance, complexity and structure of the Bolgheri terroir. It has been produced since 1990 from vineyards located on soil of alluvial origin, from clayey-sandy to clayey-loamy, with the presence of Bolgheri agglomeration (skeleton).

Tasting notes:

Sparkling rich ruby purple in the glass. On the nose clear, fresh, mint, eucalyptus, black currant, licorice. On the palate a fruity bouquet of cherries as well as blackberries, peppery notes, cardamom. Long lasting on the finish.

Grape varieties: 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Cabernet Franc, 18% Merlot.
Aging: 18 months in barrique.
Acidity: 5,5 g/l.
Residual sugar: 1.26 g/l.
Closure: Natural cork.
Aging potential: Until 2045.
Drinking temperature: 18-20 °C.
