Four Pillars RARE DRY Gin 41,8% Vol. 0,7l

One of the few craft gins made in Australia, Four Pillars was founded in 2013 in the Yarra Valley close to Melbourne using a CARL copper pot still called Wilma to produce its Dry Gin. Funded through Pozible an Australian version of Kickstarter, Four Pillars is the brainchild of wine making and marketing duo Stuart Gregor and Cameron Mackenzie and brand guru Matt Jones, who want to produce the best craft spirits Australia has to offer.

The name Four Pillars was chosen as a reflection of the four pillars of the gin; the still, the water, the botanicals and their passion for craft.

Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin is crafted to deliver the best of all worlds: a perfect, classic gin and also something that would fascinate and delight even the most hardened gin fanatic. It is spicy but with a great citrus element, a truly modern Australian gin.

Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin has been awarded medals at a number of prestigious international competitions: Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2016 and 2014, Gold at the Global Gin Masters 2016, and Gold at the Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Competition 2014.

Juniper berries, whole oranges, lemon myrtle, coriander seeds, Tasmanian pepper berry leaf, angelica root, cardamom, star anise, cassia bark, lavender, green Szechuan, red Szechuan, cubeb berries, turmeric, pink grapefruit, ginger, grains of paradise, finger limes, gyokuro, desert lime, macadamia nut, quandong and red pine.

Tasting Notes

It's spicy but with great citrus from the whole fresh oranges and native lemon myrtle supported by touches of chopped mint, fresh citrus and floral hints. It opens with candied peels and angelica on the palate, with warm cinnamon and white pepper building to a spicy mid-palate. Subtle fruity notes throughout, a truly modern Australian gin.
